DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
We investigate cellular processes governed by Hox genes, genes that specify diverse animal structures, in Drosophila melanogaster. These include the control of size differences between homologous organs, the interplay of cell death and morphogenesis, or the regulation of organ shape and how impinges on function. We use diverse cellular, genetic and molecular techniques to reveal the connection between Hox gene activity regulation, cell behavior and tissue morphogenesis.
