Experimental Hematology_Cellular Immunotherapy
The group of Cellular Immunotherapy of the Experimental Hematology department at Fundación Jimenez Diaz is looking for a candidate to perform the Master's final project.
The candidate will be involved in a project developing chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) modified T cells for the treatment of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma patients. CAR-T cells has been established as a new modality of treatment to treat Hematological B-cell malignancies. However, despite outstanding responses, loss of expression of the target antigen in tumor cells, and lack of persistence of CAR-T cells in the patient are responsible for relapses in patients.
Here, we are developing novel CAR-T cells directed towards novel antigents to avoid loss of expression of the target antigen and we are using different strategies to enhance the persistence of CAR-T cells.
The candidate will learn how to produce different types of CAR-T cells, and to perform functional studies to analyze their efficacy, persistence and proinflammatory profile, and to analyze the consequences of their interactions with tumor cells.
