Molecular pathophysiology of fibrosis

The student will address how the modification of fatty acid metabolism in liver cells in culture (hepatocyte and stellate cell lines) impacts the generation of extracellular matrix and fibrosis. He/she will be exposed to techniques of cell culture, transfection and gene expression and evaluation of mitochondrial metabolism and fibrotic transformation.
