DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a devastating neurodegenerative disease characterized by the death of motor neurons in the spinal cord and cerebral cortex. Its progression is rapid, leading to the death of patients in 3-5 years. There are only two drugs, riluzole and edaravone, capable of slightly slowing it down. Similarly, there is a lack of diagnostic tools that are capable of differentially detecting ALS, key aspect when establishing early treatments. In the applicant's Final Master Project, we will analyze the role of the transcription factor NRF2, the master regulator of redox homeostais, in ALS pathogenesis.
