Ph.D. position available at the Translational Genomics Group of the University of Valencia)

The Translational Genomics Group (www.uv.es/gt) of the University of Valencia (Spain) ofers a 3-year Ph.D. position under the supervision of Profs. Ruben Artero and Manuel Perez Alonso to perform research aiming at modulating expression of MBNL1/2 in Myotonic Dystrophy. Briefly, the project intends to characterize the endogenous regulation of MBNL1/2 proteins, which are critically low in Myotonic Dystrophy, to discover new therapeutic targets and candidate drugs able to boost endogenous expression.

The selected candidate will be funded by the Santiago Grisolia PhD programme, and will have a net salary of approximately 1200€ per month plus travel and tuition expenses. Eligible candidates must have gained a degree in Life Sciences from a non-Spanish University after the 30th of January 2014 and will have to enroll in the “Genetics and Molecular and Cell Biology” Master degree (www.uv.es/bmcg) unless already hold their own master degree.
