DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER

Immunobiology of atherotrombosis

According to the World Health Organization, cardiovascular diseases are the first cause of death globally and atherosclerosis underpins most of the incidence. It is a chronic disease characterized by progressive retention of lipids in the arterial wall and an exacerbated inflammatory response. The TFM will help establishing a role for the immune receptor nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain 1 (NOD1) in the context of atherosclerosis. To perform this project, our lab will provide flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, mouse genetics and in vitro and in vivo functional assays.
