Physiopathology of inflammation
The contribution of inflammation to sterile myocarditis is a subject of relevance in the field of cardiovascular disorders. We have developed a procedure in which experimental myocarditis is caused by autoimmune responses. The parameters associated to this pathology can be followed using non invasive molecular imaging and echocardiographic techniques. The work to be carried out in this TFM involves:
1. The experimental development of the myocarditis model and the characterization of the immune response
2. Molecular imaging and echocardiographic evaluation of the progress of the disease
3. Therapeutic interventions based on molecules (bioactive lipids) controlling the fate of the immuno-reactive cells, in particular bioactive and pro-resolution lipids
4. Validation of the experimental model in the onset of human cardiomyopathies.
