DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
- In the Experimental Therapeutics Programme we perform both targeted and phenotypic-based drug discovery. In targeted projects, the Biology Section is devoted to the biochemical, cellular, and in vitro/in vivo pharmacological characterization of the compounds synthesised within the programme in order to obtain novel anticancer agents with optimized profiles able to demonstrate in vivo proof of concept in animal models of disease.
- In the molecular pharmacological characterization of novel agents is very important to establish the tumour types and/or molecular backgrounds in which these new therapies could show efficacy as a single agent or in combination settings. Currently we are working in the development of CDK8 inhibitors and we want to characterize the combination with approved chemotherapeutics in different tumor types as breast cancer, lung cancer and ovarian cancer and determine the molecular mechanism of the combination and perform cell cycle analysis and inmunofluorescence.
