DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER

The nervous system is responsible for getting the information from the environment, its further processing and the generation of an answer that transmits to different parts of the body for its implementation. The nervous system is a complex multicellular model whose development and functioning involves coordination of a large number of cells that communicate with each other. Two of the main factors involved in this cell-cell communication in the nervous system are neurotrophins and ligands for the nuclear receptor superfamily. Our group is interested in studying the mechanisms of action of neurotrophins and nuclear receptors in various aspects of the nervous system, in particular the mechanism of myelin formation, both during development and in pathological conditions.
