Neural Regeneration

Biology and Biotecnology of pluripotent stem cells (ES and iPS cells) and their therapeutic application in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson disease and Alzheimer disease.

The work include the generation of new lines of pluripotent stem cells,  their culture, characterization (by immunocytochemistry, Wester blot, Q-RT-PCR....) and their directed differentiation into specific types of neurons.

We will use bidimensional cultures (2D) and also tri-dimensional cultures (3D), with the aim of generating "mini-brains" "in vitro" that can be used as 3D models of neurological diseases.
