Cell Structure Laboratory

Our team studies the replication factories of pathogenic RNA viruses. In recent years we have developed new imaging methods to visualize viruses in cells. We will use these methods in combination with biochemistry, cell biology and molecular virology techniques to study uncharacterized steps of bunyavirus and reovirus infections. The aims of this project will be to identify the lipid transfer proteins used by these viruses to build their membranous factories and to use the results to reveal potential targets for developing new antiviral tehrapeutic drugs and for drugs' repurposing.
