DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER

Dr. Marazuela, researcher in charge, has worked for the past twenty years in various research projects within the area of immuno-endocrinology, and currently leads the research group of Endocrinology at the Institute Princesa. The group collaborates with Endocrinology, Surgery, ophthalmology, Pathology, Cellular, Molecular Biology and biostatistics enabling a multidisciplinary team. The activity of the team has been reflected in original research supported by national and international publications, research projects, publications and pre and post-doctoral internships.

Our research has focused primarily on the mechanisms related to the immune response in autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD). In fact, the Hospital Universitario de la Princesa is now one of the most important reference centers for this type of disease.

In parallel the group has recently initiated a new line of investigation in neuroendocrine tumors in collaboration with others oncology-focused groups. Finally, our group is a leading national and European level in relation pituitary pathology and leads the Spanish Multicenter Registry Pituitary Adenomas (REMAH), which has 1400 pituitary tumors.

The team combines experience and youth, with a clinical and basic profile. The group has technical support and the means to conduct clinical-basic projects, which is part of the healthcare field and molecular and cellular biology.

Master students are invited to participate in one of these ambitious projects as part of the training program in molecular bioscience and their final project elaboration.
