Unidad de Neurooncología

Our group studies the cellular and molecular biology of brain tumors, in particular the aggressive glioblastomas. We have a strong background in preclinical models of this disease and we also participate actively in the molecular classification of tumor samples. Nowadays we are interested in elucidating the mechanisms of chemoresistance by looking into the response of tumor cells and their microenvironment to chemotherapy (cytotoxic and molecular therapies). These studies aim at the desing of novel synergic therapies for glioblastomas.
